Mercado Artesanal Guayaquil (1-2 hrs)

The best place to buy your souvenirs, textiles, Ecuadorian decoration and other local stuff, you should go to Mercado Artesanal Guayaquil. This market is open every day from 9 am to 7 pm. On Sundays it closes at 4 pm.
The market is located downtown in a building at the intersection of Alfredo Baquerizo Moreno and Loja.

Steak restaurant Del Nato (2 hrs)

If you are a real carnivore and specifically like lomo, you should go to La Parillada del Nato, shortly called Del Nato. It is most famous for its Parrillada, a selection of cooked meats and sausages served sizzling hot on a hot coal brazier. The best part is that the servings are massive. So don’t order too many side dishes, just enjoy the meat.

They are open every day for lunch and dinner from 12 am to 1 am. Be ware of the fact that on Sunday’s it’s not allowed to serve alcoholic beverages in Ecuador so they can’t serve any wine or beer with your food.

Del Nato has five locations but the most popular one is located at V.E. Estrada 1217 y Laureles. For reservations call: 2 387098 – 2 888599.

Mercado Municipal del Norte (1 hr)

A great market to visit in downtown Guayaquil is Mercado Municipal del Norte. This is a very local market with fresh products. You can buy your fruits here or just enjoy the picturesque moments. The opening hours are every day from 6 am to 3 pm.

One of the best restaurants in town is Caracol de Azul, which means: blue snail. The restaurant serves international cuisine and is specialised in seafood dishes.
